Hello representatives of the women's golf sections,
The Men’s Section of the Stanford Golf Club Men’s would like to invite the senior members of the Women’s Section of the Stanford Golf Club to participate in our annual home and away tournaments with the Olympic Golf and Country Club. Please alert your membership to this opportunity to play in these tournaments (note signups on golf fusion begin on Feb 6). We play at home at Stanford in the morning (including breakfast and lunch) of March 22, 2017, and at Olympic in the afternoon (including lunch and dinner) of April 6, 2017. The tournaments are open to both senior men and senior women members of Olympic Club and the Stanford home event will include women players from Half Moon Bay as well. (I wasn't sure who to send this message to, so I sent it to all of you who were involved in the email interaction about last year's exchange at Olympic.) The cost for participating is $65 for the tournament at Stanford and $100 for the tournament at Olympic. If a player participates in the home tournament, the Olympic tournament is discounted to $80 and the player gets preference in the Olympic sign up if the event is over subscribed. The sign-ups for all participants will open on Golf Fusion on February 6, 2017. Sign up and pay for each of these tournaments separately on the Golf Fusion Web Site: http://www.golffusion.com/stanfordgolfcourse. Men’s club members sign in to their golf fusion account and find the tournaments in the list of future tournaments. Some women players are registered on golf fusion and they should do the same. Other Women’s club members without a golf fusion account should sign up on golf fusion as a guest (click “Events – Guest Registration Only” and then in the list of future tournaments click “Senior Exchange at Olympic” for the away event and “Senior Exchange at Stanford with Olympic and Half Moon Bay” for the home event). Payment is required at the time of registration. All women’s club members who sign up as a guest must provide email, address/phone, and a valid GHIN#. Sign-ups for the home and away events must be done separately. All sign up must be done on Golf Fusion. We don't know yet how many slots will be available for Stanford players in these tournaments, but we have been guaranteed at least 36 at Olympic. Although we expect we will have slots for most, if not all, Stanford players who wish to participate, this was a very popular event last year and your members should be encouraged to sign up early. If more Stanford players sign up than there are slots for, those who sign up for both tournaments will be given priority and then those who signed up and paid earlier will be given priority over those who signed up and paid later. I was not sure to whom to address this invitation but have selected people from the board lists for the women’s 18 and 9 hole groups who have contact information in the directory. If you can provide a point of contact, I will send the signup notice when we publish on golf fusion. (tournament descriptions can be found there now). I hope you can encourage your members to participate. I find these social golf events to be quite fun. Jay Jeffries Jay@Jeffries.org 650-274-7598 Richard Fikes Fikes@Stanford.edu
