In case there are any other alumni associate members who are daily fee paying like Michelle and me, I wanted you to know that I saw Casey yesterday at our sand clinic and asked about the green fee increase that took effect October 1. Casey confirmed that the green fee rate of $65 applied to all alumni associate members WHEN THEY PLAY IN A 9 HOLE EVENT, e.g. Thursday 9 hole play, Sunday 9 hole mixers, guest days, home exchanges etc.
If we play at any other time, we pay the increased regular alumni association rate of $150. There is no 9 hole rate except for Thursday morning regular play, mixers etc….
At this stage, Casey said that all of the pro shop checking us in should know about the $65 green fee instead of $75. So if you are charged more than this, let me know.
NOTE: Effective 2018 dues are now $79/year or $65 after July 1 for a half-year membership.

Subject: 2018 Dues Supplement - $19 Due Now
When the 2018 budget was approved last September, it was agreed to set the 2018 dues at $70 plus a supplement to cover the then unknown cost for our handicap service. Now that we're into 2018, the exact amount that we are charged by NCGA for maintaining our handicap indexes is known. A $39 per member fee covers the GHIN system maintenance by NCGA as well as WNHGA dues. In the 2018 budget, a $20 per member fee was assumed because that was the 2017 amount charged by WGANC for our GHINs. I apologize for all the acronyms, but here's what they stand for:
GHIN Golf Handicap and Information Network
NCGA Northern California Golf Association
WGANC Women's Golf Association of Northern California
WNHGA Women's Nine Hole Golf Association
The bottom line is that each of you now owe our club $19. Please make your check payable to Stanford Nine Hole Golf Section and mail it to me at 635 Hayne Rd., Hillsborough, CA 94010.
We have been billed for all regular members as of 1/1/18 and I have sent a check for $1,404 to NCGA. Thank you in advance to all of you who take care of this immediately.

I graduated from Stanford in 1986 with a Masters in Computer Science. A few years later, I started learning to play golf with my husband, David Tsiang. Golf was our main hobby until we had our twin daughters in 1998. Between working and being parents, we didn’t play much golf for many years. Our daughters went off to college a year ago, so we are getting back to playing golf again. I am very happy to have found your group. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.
A Stanford MBA, I just moved back to the Bay Area after twenty years in NJ (Madison) where I worked on sustainability and environmental issues. My husband Tom and I have three daughters: one twin in NYC, another in SF and a junior at Stanford. I am delighted to be able to golf and garden in the winter!
Nancy is Associate Director at the John W. Gardner Center of the Graduate School of Education at Stanford. She took up golf 18 months ago and is enjoying this new part of her life. Nancy is also a Master's swimmer, so when not on the golf course you will find Nancy in the pool. Nancy lives in Hillsborough with her husband, an investment advisor. They have two grown children: a daughter who is a teacher in Palo Alto, and a son who is an equities analyst and lives in New York City.
We have many new members so far this year, thanks in large part to excellent recruiting by our Captains! We will post photos and info as more become available.New members so far in 2016:
